David Stringer-Lamarre, within his role as Chairman of the Institute of Directors, City of London, was pleased to welcome a delegation of business people from Sichuan Province in China.

Nigel Griffiths, former Deputy Leader of the House of Commons, made the welcome address noting the strengthening relationship between the UK and China.

David Stringer-Lamarre provided a background about the Institute of Directors, the City of London branch and its deep interest in international trade.

Mei Sim Lai OBE DL, Honorary Secretary and Chairman of the IoD City China Interest Group, spoke about the branch’s relations with China including last year’s visit to Chengdu. Mei Sim Lai OBE DL then spoke about the New Silk Road and the One Belt policy.

Mr Wen, the delegation leader, spoke about the activities of the delegation in China and their desire to contribute to the growing relations between China & the UK.
