‘Angel First ’A look at the thriving FinTech sector and angel investment scene

David Stringer-Lamarre, within his role as Chairman of the Institute of Directors, City of London, was pleased to be the Moderator for this fully booked event in the excellent setting of Level39.

Global investment in FinTech has tripled in the last year to $12billion, and projections for annual global investment in FinTech are expected to reach $46bn in 2020. London is looking to establish itself as the principal global hub for FinTech, but other cities such as Hong Kong are also emerging.

The panel considered many aspects of FinTech and angel investing, noting the strong and growing connection between the UK and the Far East, the syndication of investing, hot to assess investment opportunities and also assessing potential investors from an entrepreneurs’ perspective.

The formal proceedings were followed by a very animated business networking session.
