Coleman Street Ward Club Chairman’s Dinner at the Royal Air Force Club

Coleman Street Ward Club Chairman’s Dinner at the Royal Air Force Club, London. David Stringer-Lamarre, MD, FortisCL, said “It was a great pleasure to attend and once again see the splendid painting in glass by award winning artist Helen Whittaker.”

“It was a delightful event. We heard eloquent remarks from the Chairman of Coleman Street Ward Club Annie Quigley. The engaging key note speech was fittingly from delivered by Coleman Street member and Air Pilot’s Liveryman Squadron Leader Mark Grigg – ‘My life in the air today and with the RAF’.”

The art work within the image is called ‘RAF, past and present’. Helen’s design presents themes that characterise both the history of the Royal Air Force and the RAF Club since their formation in 1918. Special emphasis was drawn to the roles played by RAF personnel, their aircraft (and other vital equipment) during open global conflict, the ‘Cold War’, and the many other operations in which the service has been engaged.
