British Malaysian Chamber of Commerce Delegation


The British Malaysian Society (BMS) hosted a visiting delegation from The British Malaysian Chamber of Commerce (BMCC), led by Jennifer Lopez. The delegation comprised senior Malaysian Government officials from various ministries including International Trade, Health, Finance, Works and Higher Education.

David Stringer-Lamarre, MD of FortisCL, within his my role as Chair of the BMS International Trade Group was pleased to be the event MC for the discussion focused upon ‘Strengthening UK-Malaysia ties through public private collaborations’.

The welcome address was delivered by BMS Chair Mei Sim Lai OBE DL, who later led the attendees in a 2 minutes silence in honour of the Late Queen.

Jennifer Lopez provided comments about Malaysia and the objectives for the delegation.

The expert panel was comprised of: Lord Marland, Chair of Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council; Ashadi Bin Ramly, Principal Assistant Secretary, Strategic Investment Division, Ministry of Defence; Kogila Balakrishnan, Director of Client and Business Development, University of Warwick and Martin Barrow GBS CBE, Director of Matheson & Co.
