Artificial Intelligence: House of Lords


David Stringer-Lamarre, MD of Fortis CL and Chairman of the Institute of Directors, London Region, was pleased to deliver the opening remarks at this event held within the House of Lords. David spoke about recent developments in the technology space and the growing interest in the opportunities and indeed challenges associated with Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Lord Timothy Clement- Jones CBE spoke about the importance of AI to the economy and the need to fully understand its capabilities and workings. He is Chair of the House of Lords Artificial Intelligence Select Committee and Co-Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Artificial Intelligence. He is a Liberal Democrat Peer and their spokesman for the Digital Economy in the House of Lords.

Bob De Caux spoke about developments in AL. He is VP of AI and Robotic Process Automation at IFS, where he combines deep technical expertise (PhD in AI and complex systems simulation) with an in-depth knowledge of how to use those techniques to build products and create customer solutions across a number of sectors.
