6th Joint ASEAN Societies Reception at Royal Automobile Club. David Stringer-Lamarre, MD, FortiCL, was pleased to be the MC for the event, working alongside the lead organisers Mei Sim Lai OBE DL, Chair, The British Malaysian Society & Steve Bukley, Chair, Anglo-Thai Society.

David said “Ian Gibbons MBE, the CEO of The UK-ASEAN Business Council (UKABC) provided an overview of the UK business engagement with ASEAN. Allesandro Bernama, Coordinator of Political Affairs, Embassy of Indonesia provided commentary on behalf of HE Dr Desra Percaya, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia, about activities and achievements during the Indonesian Chairmanship of ASEAN. HE Douangmany Gnotsyoudom, Ambassador of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic provided insights into areas of focus during the coming year when Lao holds the Chairmanship. All three kindly consented to a ‘question and answer’ session with the many attendees.”
