2022 Joint ASEAN Societies Reception at the Indonesian Embassy in London.

David Stringer-Lamarre, MD of FortisCL within his role as Chair, International Trade Group, British Malaysian Society was pleased to act as MC and speak at this fully booked event.

Opening remarks were delivered by David Stringer-Lamarre. The welcome address was made by Mei Sim Lai OBE DL, Chair of The British Malaysian Society. There followed a message from Gavin Wilkins, Chief Commercial Officer of Hawksford, sponsor of the event. HE Mr Kan Pharidh, Ambassador of Cambodia delivered a speech on Cambodia’s Chairmanship of ASEAN in 2022. This was followed by HE Dr Desra Percaya, the Ambassador of Indonesia who spoke about Indonesia’s Chairmanship of ASEAN in 2023. Freya Thomas Monk from UKABC delivered remarks about the UK engagement with ASEAN. Closing remarks were made by Steve Buckley, Chair of Anglo-Thai Society.
