City of London; Election of Sheriffs

City of London Corporation, Common Hall. David Stringer-Lamarre, MD, Fortis Consulting London was pleased to attend. He said “Guildhall delivered a ‘resounding unanimous decision’ to elect two sheriffs; Gregory Jones KC, Alderman & Leatherseller, and David Chalk, Citizen & Draper. Many congratulations to both.”

‘The office of Sheriff is the oldest in the City of London. The name derives from the Shire-Reeve who exercised the King’s authority over the citizens, collecting royal revenues and enforcing royal justice. Their tenure is one year and runs from September to September.’
