Tall Buildings: Are they the solution?

Thursday 15 October 2015. Institute of Directors, City of London

WeWork South Bank, Sea Containers House, 22 Upper Ground, London, SE1 9LZ

David Stringer-Lamarre, within his role as Chairman of the Institute of Directors, City of London, was very pleased to moderate this timely and fascinating discussion about tall buildings.

A large and informed audience listened with interest to the presentations and then engaged in a lively comments and questions session. The central question, which raised many others, was whether or not tall buildings were the solution to our need for ever increasing residential and commercial space.

The speakers were:

  • Ken Shuttleworth, leading international architect and founder of the award winning architectural practice Make Architects
  • Susan Emett, Director, Residential Research, Savills
  • Marianne Fredericks, Common Councilman and Deputy Chairman of Planning & Transportation for the City of London
