David Stringer-Lamarre, MD of FortisCL, within his role of Chairman of the Institute of Directors (IoD), London Region, was pleased to be the Event Chairman for this IoD & Dubai Multi Commodities Centre event.

David’s initial address described the membership and work of IoD London Region and also noted the long & freindly relationship with the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC).

A welcome address was delivered by Gautam Sashittal, CEO, DMCC.

Lord Stephen Green, Chairman, Asia House, provided his thoughts on the strong relationship between the UK and the UAE including Dubai.

Oliver Cornock, Regional Editor, Oxford Business Group provided an interesting overview of the economic and political framework within the Gulf.

Sanjeev Dutta, Executive Director, DMCC, spoke about the work of the DMCC in making business happen.

This was followed by a panel discussion, moderated by Allie Renison, Head of Europe & Trade Policy, IoD. The other members were James Bernard, Director of Business Development, DMCC and Simon Denton, Director, The Sovereign Group.
