David Stringer-Lamarre, within his role as MD of Fortis Consulting London and as the Chairman of the Institute of Directors, City of London was pleased to attend this event. Lady Barbara Judge, Chairman of the Institute of Directors, was one of the speakers.

The conference considered four themes relating to trust.

• State of the nation
• Who do we trust?
• Who will we trust?
• Who should we trust?

The emphasis was upon bringing together people from science, business, politics, media and the arts to discuss the position of science within society.
