Big Idea Challenge 2017 Awards


David Stringer-Lamarre, within his role as Chairman of the Institute of Directors, City of London was pleased to attend this London Metropolitan University awards ceremony within St James’s Palace.

It was interesting to hear about the various ideas of the finalists and watch their accompanying videos.

The Master of Ceremonies for the evening was Jessica Elliott a previous award winner.

Toby Kress, Head of London Metropolitan University Accelerator provided an overview about how the awards work.

Holly Tucker, founder of Not on the High Street spoke about the importance of creativity and the positive economic impacts of smaller companies, many ran by artisans.

John Raftery, Vice Chancellor London Metropolitan University noted that it was important for ‘universities to be plugged into the industries around them.

HRH Prince Andrew presented the awards.
